This Throwback Video was shot a few years ago when Mr. Sushi was just getting started. Since then, they’ve grown tremendously—expanding to two locations while continuing to serve some of the best sushi in town.

Like many businesses, Mr. Sushi faced challenges along the way. When Hurricane Helene hit, they were forced to shut down temporarily—but in true Asheville spirit, they quickly bounced back and have been serving up delicious food ever since.

Long before sushi became popular in Asheville, Nandar and her family were at the forefront of bringing it to the area. In fact, they were the first to introduce sushi at The Fresh Market, long before Asheville had any sushi restaurants of its own! Their dedication and passion helped pave the way for the city’s thriving sushi scene today.
