Asheville has so many cultures represented in the community, and when it comes to food. When I toured China a few years ago, we stayed at some amazing places, and we experienced some incredible authentic food. I can say that the whole time that I was in China, I did not use a knife or fork. I got down with the chopsticks. When Red Ginger Dim Sum & Tapas was getting ready to open in downtown Asheville, I never imagined that it would be the same type of foods I experienced in some of the top restaurants in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Beijing. Wow! I never expected those foods I traveled around the world to taste, to become readily available to me at anytime, right here in Western North Carolina.
Here are some photos that we took during a recent visit to Red Ginger Dim Sum & Tapas in Downtown Asheville:
This was a bunch of our food coming out at the same time. Steamed buns, Shrimp dumplings, Lobster, and more!
The chefs deliver the finished orders to this open air table and shelf, and the waitstaff promptly picks it up for delivery to the tables.
We always order the Shanghai Style Dumplings, filled with Pork and soup inside. You are actually supposed to bite a little hole into these, drink the soup, and then eat the dumpling. So delicious!
The giant rice cooker at Red Ginger, with the Chef getting a dish ready.
The Lobster dish was amazing!
So good, I had to do a closeup! Whatever lobster dish they have, you should get it. Their menu changes sometimes, but the lobster has never let me down.
Red Ginger Dim Sum & Tapas is a Chinese Cuisine Restaurant located in Downtown Asheville, right near other great eateries such as Tupelo Honey Cafe, Sonora Cocina Mexicana, Blue Dream Curry, and Mayfel’s.
