Hurricane Florence Asheville Weather Alert

Escaping to Asheville is nothing new. People do it all of the time. Whether you are running from your past, the law, your church, or your ex; the folks around Asheville usually welcome you with open arms. When it comes to a hurricane driving you this way, it’s usually just that much more fun when you get here. No work and you have to leave the flooded coast and run away to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Sounds like a dream vacay come true to me. I actually cannot wait for the day when I have to evacuate these mountains and run away to the beach for a few days.

When arriving in Asheville after natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria last year; people end up scrambling around, going to half ass restaurants and drinking cheap beer, simply because they do not know any better. That shouldn’t happen. We are here to fix this. Below you will find a guide to celebrate life in Asheville, and the fact that you, yes you, have escaped the wrath of Ms. Florence.

Even though we talk lighthearted about the hurricane, please be careful out there and do not take any chances at all. If things turn for the worse, even storm damage around Asheville could be significant and take years to recover from. If you are riding out the storm on the coast or elsewhere for whatever reason, we send good vibes your way, as we are all in bunker down mode now, not knowing what could happen from one hour to the next once the storm gets closer. Hopefully Hurricane Florence will die down without much damage. If all goes well here in Asheville, maybe some of the churches will open up their facilities to help those still leaving the coastal areas.
